Our Client based in Brussels, Belgium, requires an SAP SolMan (Solution Manager) Configuration Consultant for a 9 month assignment.  Due to the current Corona Virus (Covid-19) situation, you will begin to work remotely until the travel restrictions are lifted.  Then you will continue to work onsite.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a SAP BC environment.
  • Be able to prove experience in a company managing at least 15 SAP production systems.

Scope of the role

  • End user experience monitoring
  • Business Process Monitoring
  • Configuration of the Managed Systems
  • Upgrade and configuration of the client system
  • Execute the SolMan migration from 7.1 to 7.2
  • On Solution Manager 7.1 & 7.2: Test-Management with Solution Manager and other tools preferably (HP Loadrunner, UFT by HP)
  • Configuration of ITSM
  • Configuration of ChaRM
  • Technical & functional configuration on SolMan 7.2
  • Deep knowledge in the EFWK (Extractor Framework)
  • Migration of the systems (OS & DB) from Solaris/Oracle to AIX/Sybase
  • Document all the activities
  • Knowledge transfer (and sharing) within the current team
  • Setup a Daily Task organisation for the all the managed systems
  • Adjust the monitoring templates because of the upgrade to Solution Manager 7.2 & the OS/DB migrations
  • Setup (based on Solution Manager) a solution for the performance monitoring of the SAP systems
  • Setup a methodology for continuous improvement of the monitoring
  • Mandatory items to consider:
    – Some of these tasks require to be executed outside office hours.
    – The mission also includes to regularly take part in the guard role (7 consecutive days)

Deliverables

  • Migrate the “common” systems (not yet migrrated) to AIX/Sybase
  • Upgrade solution manager to 7.2: Adjust the monitoring following the OS & DB migrations
  • Migration of the ALM solution from 7.1 to 7.2
  • Migration of the technical monitoring from SolMan 7.1 to 7.2
  • Configuration and roll-out of ITSM using ChaRM
  • Creation of new flows based on business requirements
  • General configuration, both technical as functional
  • Assist in the test management part with utilities like Loadrunner, UFT
  • Setup (based on Solution Manager) a performance monitoring of the SAP systems
  • Coordinate the activities of the Common Team, so they are done on time (establish a planning with all the activities of the team members)
  • Execute, for the various solutions used, performance tests using Loadrunner and UFT
  • Technical maintenance of all the SAP systems under the responsibility of the Common team
