    Microsoft Excel is an essential tool in today’s professional world. Whether you work in administration, accounting, sales, or logistics — Excel is everywhere. In this hands-on introductory course, you'll learn how to create simple spreadsheets, process data, perform basic calculations, and format and print your work correctly.

    We start from the very beginning, explaining the interface and gradually building up to using Excel efficiently for everyday tasks. This course is ideal for those with little to no experience or for anyone looking to refresh their basic Excel skills.

    In an in-company or custom training session, this course can also be offered in a shortened format as a refresher.

    Course outline

    Introduction to Excel

    • What is Microsoft Excel and what can you do with it?
    • Explanation of the interface (ribbon, menus, toolbars)
    • Basic concepts: worksheet, row, column, cell, cell address

    Basic Operations

    • Entering data: text, numbers, dates
    • Using the fill handle (auto fill)
    • Navigating within a worksheet
    • Selecting cells, rows, and columns
    • Inserting and deleting rows/columns
    • Copying, moving, and deleting cells and cell ranges
    • Renaming, moving, copying, or deleting worksheets
    • Saving files (including different file formats)

    Calculations in Excel

    • Manually entering formulas
    • Commonly used functions:
      • =SUM(), =AVERAGE(), =MIN(), =MAX()
    • Understanding cell references:
      • Relative, absolute, and mixed ($A$1, A1, A$1, $A1)
    • Applying percentages and basic calculations

    Formatting Tables

    • Using themes and quick formatting
    • Manual formatting of text, numbers, and cells
      • Font, alignment, cell color, borders
    • Formatting numbers, currencies, dates

    Page Setup and Printing

    • Page layout: margins, orientation, scaling
    • Adding headers and footers
    • Print preview and print settings
      • Set print area
      • Repeat row or column titles on every page
      • Fit to page (scale to pages wide/tall)

    Audience

    Anyone who needs to create simple spreadsheets, perform basic calculations, and print them correctly in a professional context. This course is intended for beginning Excel users or those who want to refresh their basic knowledge.

    Prerequisites

    • Basic knowledge of the Windows environment: opening folders, saving files, using a mouse and keyboard.
    • No prior knowledge of Excel is required.
